Glassberg/Greensfelder Forum
Join us for an afternoon of environmental talks from EEPS junior faculty and their collaborators:
Assistant Professor Dougal Hansen - Talk Title: "Constraining Subglacial Effective Stress from Normal-Incidence Active-Source Seismics, with Application to Thwaites Glacier", Antarctica, will host Atsuhiro Muto, Associate Professor of Earth & Environmental Science from Temple University - Talk Title: "Geophysical Investigations of Subglacial Controls on Thwaites Glacier Dynamics".
Assistant Professor Roger Michaelides - Talk Title: "Remote sensing and geophysical characterization of subsurface ground ice in periglacial systems", will host Jessica Fayne, Assistant Professor, Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Michigan - Talk Title: "Towards New Observations of Vegetation Water Storage and Wind-Driven Lake Roughness Characteristics".
Assistant Professor Claire Masteller - Talk Title: "What controls flood resilience and recovery in steep mountain streams? Exploring the interplay of sediment mobility, flow history, and channel form", will host Gordon Grant, Research Hydrologist for the USDA Forest Service from Oregon State University - Talk Title: "Reconsidering critical flow: An organizing principle for fluid flow in steep channels".
There will be coffee, tea, and light snacks available during this afternoon event. A small reception with appetizers and beverages will be held at 4 PM in Rudolph 301.
