New awards received from September 01, 2024 - February 28, 2025
Jeffrey Catalano, professor of Earth, environmental, and planetary sciences, won a $350,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for his project titled “GEO-CM: Biogeochemical Processes Affecting Critical Mineral Hosts and Mobility in Mine Tailings and Weathered Ore Zones.”
Bradley Jolliff, Scott Rudolph Professor of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences, was awarded $110,760 by Intuitive Machine/NASA for his project titled “Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera - ESM5.”
William McKinnon, Clark Way Harrison Distinguished Professor in Arts & Sciences, was awarded $531,773 by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for acting as a Co-Investigator for the “Europa Clipper Gravity/Radio Science (G/RS) Investigation.” He was also awarded $37,498 by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for his project titled “Juice Radar for Icy Moons Exploration (RIME) Instrument.”
Scott VanBommel, senior research scientist, was awarded $262,500 by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for his project titled “PIXL: Planetary Instrument for X-Ray Lithochemistry.”
