Anne Hofmeister, research professor of Earth and planetary sciences, won this year's Professional Excellence Award in academia/research from the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG). The award recognizes Hofmeister's distinguished career contributions and professional excellence in areas including research, mentorship, outreach, and service. AWG is an international organization devoted to enhancing the quality and level of participation of women in geosciences and to introduce girls and young women to geoscience careers.
