Lapone Techapinyawat
Lapone is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the WUSTL Geomorphology group, specializing in urban rainfall–runoff processes, geospatial analysis, and geospatial AI. His research combines geospatial analytics with deep learning (including graph neural networks) to characterize urban land cover, quantify imperviousness, and improve understanding of runoff generation and flooding behavior in cities. In his current work, he supports interdisciplinary research connecting urban flooding and runoff to soil pathogens and public health outcomes. He also contributes to field-based data collection and monitoring efforts that support model evaluation and environmental applications. He is an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with interests in developing methods that support resilient stormwater management and geospatially informed decision-making.
